Meta: Behind. (Updated again.)
Starting to come back from the extended downtime. As a reminder, first I was moving and getting set up for school; then I had to drive across a few states to deal with a minor family issue; then I found out that my fiance had died. It has been hard to get back to the point of wanting to do creative things, but really, random Internet-related creative endeavors have been a major part of my life for years. Heck, it's how the dearly departed and I even met in the first place. So I'm comin' back, slowly. Wrote a couple more plugfics today.
Thanks to anyone still interested in my bit of e-weirdness here.

I have bad news. You have gained a reader. Your fictions are fantastic, ranging from the dark and somewhat depressing to the whimsical. In any case, they are quite nifty. I doubt the spambots will agree, however. I am sorry for that.
When I was younger I would read horror comics. They often had short text stories in the middle. These stories were never more than a page long and they invariably ended in the protagonist's gruesome death. That's what your writing reminds me of, only yours is better quality. I'm liking the slightly darker tone, what with the domestic abuse and the secret TV messages.
A belated hi and thanks to the both of you, and, er, welcome to the lack of updates, I suppose. Here, have some complimentary soup. Everyone loves soup.
My condolences about your fiance.
Couple weeks late, but thank you.
Welcome back, Mister JLR.
Wow, I usually never say things like this in comments... but unc-professor, you're a total cock. Did you just put some big old Bible spam... complete with Chick tracts, no less... into someone's blog?
From what I hear, Jesus hates spam. He's on the board of Spam Arrest, actually. You might have to answer to him come The Day.
Congratulations on the "Comics Curmudgeon" mention, JLR!
I've very sorry to hear about your difficult year. I came over here from Curmudgeon a few hours ago and couldn't stop reading - great great work!
Okay, let's see.
Mike P: thanks belatedly for the welcome back!
tata: The thing you have to remember is that Chick tracts are awesome. I would wallpaper a room in them if I could (and I actually have enough now to make a good go of it). Of course, since they're small, it would have to be a small room, but when you think about which room in your average dwelling tends to be small, then it actually makes sense.
Mister Supposed Professor: I actually did strongly consider deleting your comment as spam. But to be honest, I find it fascinating enough to leave as-is, at least for now.
Anyone bopping over from Josh's place: Hi! Thank you for coming! Care for some leftover green bean casserole?
Another visitor from Curmudgeonland here. What an awesome blog! You've got a big future ahead of you, methinks.
Condolences on your loss too.
Incidentally, after glancing through the post left by your Bible-hawking spammer, I noticed that Daniel Webster was labeled "(Founding Father)". Now, I'm not sure exactly in which parallel universe Webster would have been a Founding Father, as he was not quite born when the Declaration of Independence was written and signed, and was 7 years old when the Constitution was adopted, but, you know, I guess it's better than saying "Daniel Webster (Alcoholic Sellout)"
Don't get me wrong, though. Love the guy.
Color me another impressed reader! I'm not sure what color that would be, exactly, but I'd go with a pinkish-purple. Or maybe a purplish-pink. Anyway.
My condolences on your hard year, if you'll accept them from a stranger. Keep up the great work!
